Remote NGO Management Internship: Gender Equality Nonprofit
by: Roots Interns
Is it your passion to work towards achieving gender equality? This is an incredible opportunity to support young women in South Africa who have experienced gender-based violence, HIV/AIDS, and other types of abuse, exploitation, or mistreatment. During this NGO management internship, you’ll play an integral role in helping to shape and share the organization’s key messages and inspire audiences to take notice and act. There will be an exciting variety of tasks and responsibilities, from helping to craft powerful digital and individual giving campaigns, managing the organization’s website and social media platforms, coming up with creative and innovative ways to expand audiences, as well as other important tasks such as helping to devise fundraising strategies. Not only will you develop a broad understanding of how an NGO operates, as well as a great insight into the nonprofit sector more widely, but you’ll also build strong skills in communication, independent working, and project management.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does this internship run for?
You can join for a minimum of two months for as long as you want.
Will I work as part of a team or totally independently?
Because you work remotely, much of your work will be done independently, but you’ll have regular check-ins with your supervisor.
What hours do interns work?
Normally internships are based on a full time work week (e.g. 40 hours a week), but with remote internships there is more flexibility to suit your schedule. Working hours can be discussed during the application and selection process.
