Project Assistant Internship in Ecuador
Program Overview
Travel to the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest and play a big role in a small team. This program offers multi-faceted professional development and the chance to contribute valuably to rainforest conservation.
Operating in the La Hesperia Cloud Forest Reserve on the western slopes of the Ecuadorian Andes, the organization conducts vital conservation research to devise and promote sustainable methods of development in the region. They have been active since 2009 and have made a significant impact in protecting endangered species, reducing deforestation, and teaching locals sustainable practices. Take on the role of a right hand to the project manager, helping maintain and develop research projects and community outreach programs.
The organization has several projects on the go at any given time, so you can expect varied work and insight into the different aspects of a nonprofit. They have a small team on the ground, with the majority of the workforce coming from international volunteers and various local partners. Your responsibilities will include coordinating volunteers and local teams, acting as an intermediary between the two, and facilitating conservation projects.
