Travel to the Cocoa Coast of Brazil, receive training and mentorship in content creation and marketing strategy, and get the chance to devise and lead your own awareness and fundraising drives. Based in the small surf town of Iticaré, the organization works to protect the region’s distinctive flora and fauna and rich biodiversity through a combination of hands-on eco-sustainability initiatives and a range of skill-building and educational programs with a special focus on youth development. As an intern, your main goal will be raising awareness for the organization’s work both locally and globally, connecting the organization with vital support and promoting eco-sustainability in the local community. You’ll head up your own fundraising drives, coordinate marketing strategies, create content for social media and other online platforms, work on intern and volunteer recruitment, or expand and solidify partnerships with supporting organizations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Portuguese required for this program?
Basic Portuguese is required for local communications. That being said, you’ll utilize online translation tools for much of this and work closely with your bilingual supervisor.
Can you offer any support with learning Portuguese?
Yes. The host offers online courses that interns can take before starting their program. There are also lessons available throughout the internship at a small additional fee.
What do I need to bring?
Your own laptop is essential. You will also need to bring your own bedding, towels, and mosquito net, though if necessary you can organize purchase of these items from the host before arrival.
