Travel to the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica and help raise funds and awareness for the important conservation work being done there. This is your chance to develop a diverse skill set in marketing and fundraising, contribute to valuable conservation work, whilst living in a tropical paradise. This program places you with a conservation-focussed nonprofit that works to create transformative connections between people and the environment through education, research, integration, and innovation. Based on their own 4,700 hectare research center, they conduct an array of long-term, fine-scale research projects, and share their knowledge with local communities. Your role will be to spread word of the important work this organization does, and connect them with vital support. You’ll be involved with devising marketing strategies, organizing fundraising campaigns, creating content for a variety of channels, and producing educational resources. You’ll acquire new skills, experience a variety of work, and build an impressive portfolio of copy and content.

Do I need a degree to apply?

No specific degree is required, but experience or an academic background in marketing, fundraising, or a related field is preferred.

What software will I work with during the internship?

Interns need to be comfortable with using Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and experience with social media platforms is a bonus. You’ll use other online platforms and software too, but will receive the necessary training during the program for these.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

It’s not necessary however brushing up on some basics is recommended for community outreach work and to help with getting around.
