Participate in an 8-week internship at an organization or company focusing on law, civil rights, human rights, or public policy. You will be carrying out project-based work that directly contributes to the key objectives of the company or organization where you are interning, ensuring that you’ll gain real experience and know-how through substantial, mission-driven work.
Interns participating in the Legal Practicum will be placed in internships that are aligned with their professional and academic interests. Example internship projects include but are not limited to the following:
- Legal research and case analysis
- Law firm support and paralegal work
- Human rights research
- Advocacy and social justice analysis
- Public policy research
- Comparative legal research
- Legislative strategic analysis
Participants of the Legal Practicum will take part in 6 interactive and dynamic seminars during the Legal Practicum in Buenos Aires. The seminars will be coordinated and led by Centro de Estudios Legales y Sociales (CELS), an esteemed Argentine human rights organization. Students will examine how human rights organizations have challenged impunity, built democratic institutions, used legal advocacy, and responded to emerging human rights issues in Argentina and across Latin America.
