FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to all the most common questions about Puentes Abroad.
Is there a language requirement for the program?
No. All Puentes program staff are fully bilingual. Although participants will have ample opportunities to immerse themselves in the local culture and language, Spanish language learning is not a formal program component or requirement.
Can dietary needs and food allergies be accommodated?
Yes. We can accommodate a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and common food allergies, provided we receive this information in advance. Dietary requirements will be collected after enrollment and then communicated to meal providers.
Can the program itinerary change?
Our itinerary reflects the experiences and activities that we plan to provide. However, some details may need to change based on weather, transportation, site availability, or other circumstances. If an adjustment is needed, the Puentes team will make appropriate changes, while keeping participants’ safety, the overall learning experience, and the goals of the program at the forefront.
What is the cell phone use and communication policy?
Participants' cell phone usage will be discouraged during planned activities to encourage full immersion and connection with other participants, staff, and the surrounding environment. Participants will have free time after the final scheduled activity of each day, at which time they can use their cell phones. Cell phone use will be subject to quiet hours and lights-out rules.
Who will be supervising the participants?
Participants will be accompanied throughout the program by members of the Puentes Abroad team, who are based locally in Argentina, fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and experienced in working with international student groups. A Puentes staff member will be present during all activities, excursions, transportation, and scheduled free time.
Will participants share living spaces with other participants?
Yes. Participants will share rooms and tents with other participants of the same gender. Room assignments will be organized in advance, and participants will stay together in the same accommodations as a group. Puentes staff will stay on site in the same accommodations location, allowing them to remain readily available throughout the entirety of the participants’ stay.
Is travel insurance included required?
Yes, and it is included in the Program Fee. Puentes Abroad will coordinate comprehensive travel insurance for all participants for the duration of their time in Argentina.
