Our Medicine internships in Ghana are based in Accra, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Kumasi, and the Akuapem Hills. In Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi you will be based in a bustling city hospital working with patients who have a wide range of ailments.

The hospitals provide an excellent backdrop for learning about medical practices in another country. You will see conditions that are unusual in Europe and North America such as malaria and typhoid.

Medicine interns also take part in regular medical outreach work that involves treating children with minor wounds or illnesses from small villages. Sometimes interns pay a visit to orphanages for basic check ups.

Anyone interested in working with HIV and AIDS patients could instead join our HIV/AIDS Project based in a hospital in Accra and including community outreach work.
