Choosing the TEFL institute of Ireland for a TEFL degree was a really good decision for me. Everyone on the team is so supportive, especially when you are trying to figure out which course suits you best and what you will actually get from it. Any time I had a question, someone was there to help, and Annelies in particular was always brilliant at getting back to me.

I have just finished the TEFL Institute’s on-line 180 hour level 5 Diploma course, and I am delighted with it. The materials are modern, clearly laid out in a multimedia format, and they feel current. My assessments were turned around quickly, and the examiners offered feedback that was both constructive and right on the mark. Everyone, both admin and teaching staff, has been unfailingly patient, encouraging, and generous with their time, while staying completely professional throughout. If Annelies had not answered my many early questions so carefully and so kindly, I doubt I would have had the nerve to begin. Those weekly Zoom tutorials with experienced, supportive tutors were also key, because I might otherwise have stayed stuck at the hurdles I faced at the start. (I am 64.) And without Jacob being so giving, and Annelies nudging me forward yet again, I probably would not have gone from the Certificate to the Diploma, which, in truth, was not nearly as hard as I feared. Given that it is a government regulated qualification at CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL level, I genuinely think the TEFL Institute Diploma represents excellent value for money. So please accept a very big “Thank you!” from me to the whole TEFL Institute team for giving me such a strong step up towards making a living abroad. Now that we have got to know each other, I feel sure I can count on that same personal support from you in the future.

I finished the 30 hour Teaching Online certificate and it was an excellent way to understand how online teaching really differs from a normal classroom. The course goes into a lot of detail and backs everything up with plenty of lesson plan and activity examples. I also found the overview of the various online teaching platforms really useful, especially the breakdown of their pros and cons, and the section on the possibilities around freelance work.

I have just finished my 180 Hour Ofqual Regulated Level 5 TEFL Qualification and I honestly could not be happier with the whole experience. It was packed with useful information, and I feel like I have taken away so much about how to teach English. I also completed the 10 Hour Advanced Certificate in TEFL Classroom Methodologies Course and I really loved that as well. The group I was in was so nice, and we all had a great time learning together, and that was largely down to Kate. I would 100% suggest this course to anyone who is feeling a bit anxious about getting up and teaching in a classroom. Every time we asked something about classroom teaching, Kate explained it fully and was so supportive. The customer service deserves a mention too. I have just finished TEFL’s Highfield Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language course, and I really think TEFL is an excellent institute. Everything is laid out clearly, the material is straightforward to work through, and it is genuinely interesting. I came away feeling like I had gained a strong understanding of language and linguistics, alongside practical knowledge of teaching English. I am currently partway through the level 5 180 hr TEFL course. Since I am aiming to teach TEFL full-time, I spent ages comparing different online options. I eventually chose the TEFL Institute because the reviews looked really positive, the price was more reasonable than a lot of other places, and it sounded like there would be solid support if I needed it. Over the last few months I have had a few questions and each time I reached out, I was able to get the information I was looking for. When I was trying to understand the internships available, Kate explained how they work, which helped me decide whether I might want to do one. It also cleared up my questions about whether already having the TEFL cert before starting an internship would change anything, including the overall cost. After that I spoke to Ola about what to expect with income and taxes as a TEFL teacher. I had been stressing about it for quite a while, but Ola put my mind at ease. More recently, I needed to know about course extensions and Sarah got back to me really fast. Having that kind of support matters a lot to me, so I would honestly suggest using it if you are doing any of their courses. It is far better to ask someone on the team than to sit there overthinking something that can usually be sorted out without much trouble.

I am currently working through the last part of my 120 hour premier course and it has been really great. Each module has been genuinely useful and straightforward to work through, and whenever I have reached out to the TEFL Institute for support, the customer service has been second to none.
