Empowering Communities and Transforming Lives: My Volunteer Experience with Platform for the Needy (PLANE) As a Medical Doctor, I had the privilege of serving as a volunteer at Platform for the Needy (PLANE) in Uganda. PLANE is a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to addressing pressing social issues in the Kabarole district of the Rwenzori region. During my time with PLANE, I actively engaged with students and local communities, contributing to health education and advocacy initiatives. One of the key aspects of my role was writing articles on critical health topics such as "Child Abuse," "Juvenile Delinquency," and "Social Services Inequalities." These articles aimed to raise awareness and drive positive change within the community. In addition to written advocacy, I participated in radio programs, discussing vital issues like "Teenage Pregnancy," "Contraceptives," "Family planning," and "Child Rights and Health." Utilizing the power of radio, we were able to reach a wider audience and foster informed discussions. To bring health services directly to the people, I organized and conducted health camps in schools and communities across Uganda. These camps provided essential health services, including medical check-ups, counseling on family planning, and disseminating information on child rights and health. Recognizing the impact of multimedia, I expanded my role to include video editing and graphics designing. Through compelling visuals, we created impactful content to support our campaigns and outreach programs, effectively conveying messages and capturing the attention of diverse audiences. Through these diverse initiatives, we made significant strides in promoting health awareness, education, and social change. However, the journey continues, and my commitment to contributing to the well-being of Ugandan communities remains steadfast. I am eager to further leverage my medical expertise, communication skills, and multimedia capabilities to address emerging challenges and empower individuals to lead healthier lives. My volunteer experience with PLANE has been immensely rewarding. The organization's dedication to addressing pressing social issues and empowering communities is truly commendable. I would highly recommend PLANE to anyone looking to make a meaningful impact and be part of a transformative journey. Overall, my time with PLANE has been a life-changing experience. The opportunity to serve and collaborate with like-minded individuals in making a positive impact has enriched my personal and professional growth. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to the well-being of Ugandan communities and look forward to continuing this journey of service, collaboration, and positive change with PLANE.

The Suffering Of Ugandan Teenage Girls and Women Needs Our Innervation

The Suffering Of Ugandan Teenage Girls and Women Needs Our Innervation Iam Dr.Elizabeth Hynes from Netherlands and a Volunteer at PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE). I am a content writer at PLANE. My goal with this writing is very dear to my heart. I want everyone in Uganda who is concerned about the issues of teenage pregnancy and child brides to know that their concern is understood and sympathized by women and men everywhere. Girls deserve a childhood, an education, and a long life of freedom. I have been working remotely with charities in Uganda for almost 2 years now. Writing with PLATFORM for the NEEDY is enjoyable and important because when we reach out to help there is a cascade of positivity. Writing poems is my way to share the modest wisdom I have learned myself. I envision PLATFORM for the NEEDY becoming a widespread source of knowledge and hope. It is not someone's fault for having a difficult life but a simple thing like a poem or education can change a life and a whole community. When I visited Uganda, I was overwhelmed by the poverty levels that have contributed to the high teenage pregnancies and early marriages. I was warmly welcomed by the people and enjoyed the food and culture. Its not too late to join us in helping this vulnerable community Dr. Elizabeth L. Hynes, BSCHons PQ Attorney
