What is the audition process for Dance Gap Year?

We do not require a formal audition. Our program is intentionally non-audition-based because we believe in accessibility, growth, and the unique journey of each artist.

Who can apply?

We welcome dancers of all levels who have at least 3 years of movement experience in any style at any point in their lives. This includes dancers returning after a break, interdisciplinary movers, and those exploring new creative paths.

What happens instead of an audition?

You'll have a one-on-one conversation with our Founder, Dominique Robinson. This is an opportunity to:
Share your background and aspirations.
Learn more about the mission, history, and philosophy behind Dance Gap Year.
See if this is a mutually good fit.

What comes next?

If it feels like the right alignment, you’ll be invited to submit the required materials for our Mentorship Committee. These materials help us design a curated program tailored to your interests and goals.
