Since its inception in 1984 with a course in Thessaloniki, Greece, Paideia has grown extensively. The program was initiated by the Hellenic Society Paideia, an organization founded in 1974 at the University of Connecticut. In 1977, Paideia was established as a non-profit educational organization open to all, offering interdisciplinary programs for Hellenic Studies.
Today, Paideia offers a wide range of programs, including academic semester courses in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Rhodes, summer courses for college and high school students in various locations in Greece, summer learning camps for teenagers, educator enrichment courses in Greece, and internships in diverse fields of study.
