Each day, about 2,000 kilograms of food is wasted in Portugal. Volunteers on this inspiring project travel around Lisbon visiting supermarkets, cafes, bars, and restaurants to collect unwanted or unused food. This food is then distributed to some of the city's poorest inhabitants.
Volunteers help with food collection, preparing the food for distribution and giving it to the people who most need it. Not only does this project do amazing things for sustainability, but it also goes a long way to helping people in need.
Volunteers can take part for one week to 12 weeks.
Volunteers live in an eco-guesthouse in Lisbon with other volunteers. Three meals per day are provided.
