Join a Wildlife Conservation program based at a sanctuary in the country’s central highlands, supporting the care and protection of injured, orphaned, or conflict-affected wildlife. You will help prepare and deliver food, assist with feeding routines, care for juveniles, clean enclosures, maintain habitats, and support the construction and repair of fences, shelters, and enrichment areas. Beyond daily care, volunteers may take part in wildlife monitoring and conservation activities such as game counts, tracking free-roaming carnivores using camera traps or GPS data, helping with research projects, and assisting efforts to reduce human-wildlife conflict. These tasks contribute directly to long-term conservation goals and support the rehabilitation of animals that may eventually be released back into the wild. Program Highlights
Programs start every Monday. Duration from 2 to 12 weeks.

Volunteer 6 to 7 hours per day caring for injured, orphaned or conflict wildlife and helping rehabilitate and protect animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, antelope, baboons, birds and more
Tasks may include feeding animals, intensive care for juvenile wildlife, habitat construction and maintenance, fence and road work, monitoring species, and general sanctuary upkeep

Na'ankuse Namibia Volunteer Review
August 27, 2026by: Caitlin Cruse - AustraliaI spent two weeks at Na'ankuse in Namibia as part of the IVHQ Volunteering program working closely with animals at the wildlife reserve. For the price of the program my expectations were well exceeded! The accomodation, food and staff services were great and the experiences with the animals during the volunteer work is unlike anything I have seen. Being able to be so close to the wildlife whilst doing activities that make a difference was truly an unforgettable experience. I hope to go back soon!

Its an amazing way to make an impact through every IVHQ program. They are super well organized, its 100% safe and they give right and clear information since the beggining. They are super helpful and a wonderful organazation overall. I would for sure recommend them to travel and volunteer abroad.

I worked with the cheetahs, hyena's, and took baboons for a morning and evening walk. As I am tall they loved to climb up on me and sit on my shoulders - guess it was a good view. I met wonderful people and am proud that I had the opportunity to be part of this amazing project. I wish I could go again and will look to do so in future.
