First Responder - Emergency Medical Services
Program Overview
Gain real-world experience as a first responder through a hands-on internship or volunteer placement in Emergency Medical Services with Minga House Foundation. Train under the supervision of experienced paramedics and healthcare professionals while developing essential skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Expect to:
● Learn to assess patients, perform life-saving interventions, and stabilize various emergencies (trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, accidents)
● Practice CPR, airway management, wound care, splinting, medication administration, and proper use of equipment such as defibrillators and stretchers
● Build critical skills in teamwork, communication, and quick decision-making during real-life medical situations
● Strengthen your understanding of empathy, professionalism, and compassionate patient care in stressful situations
● Improve your Spanish communication skills by interacting with patients, families, and emergency teams in the field
