Special needs vary at all schools, including visually impaired students, hearing impaired students, and developmentally disabled students. Through working as teachers' aids, leading assigned lessons, and teacher-to-teacher mentoring, interns develop and grow as educators while learning about the in-country education system(s) available to special needs students in a developing country. There are 2 options for medical placements: - 4-Week "Practicum" - 8-Week "Internship" Special Education programs require interns to have an intermediate level of Spanish at a minimum.
