Teaching and Assisting in Schools in Uganda

This vital education program places international participants in a school in Uganda with high staff shortages resulting from limited funding and inadequate resources. The student body comprises orphaned and underprivileged children. Teaching volunteers are desperately needed here. Teaching duties vary and may cover one or more of a wide range of academic subjects and practical vocational skills, geared to help students improve their career prospects. Volunteers can plan and teach lessons in English, Maths, Science, Physical Education, Health, HIV awareness, and other subjects they have knowledge and interest in. They can also plan fun activities and sports programs for recess and after school. Volunteers play an invaluable role in teaching children and supporting their educational needs, helping increase their chances of reaching higher levels of education. Ultimately, they can find better employment and have a brighter future.
