Early Childhood Education in Tanzania

This vital program supports Tanzania's under-resourced yet fundamental early childhood education. Placements are available in pre- and primary schools in the gateway city of Arusha.

Early childhood education is sadly often neglected in Tanzania's education system, lacking guidelines, funding, resources, and quality staffing. Volunteers help address these issues by sharing their knowledge and skills with the local teachers. They support underprivileged children, helping shape their lives and ensuring they get the best start.

Prior teaching experience isn't necessary to join. However, volunteers must be enthusiastic and flexible, as this program needs highly motivated individuals who love caring for children. They should be willing to dedicate themselves to various tasks to enable the successful running of pre/primary schools.
