I learned so many important and new things about healthcare in Belize. This program provided many unique experiences I could not have gotten anywhere else. I also got to meet many amazing people and form new friendships.
Overall I loved my experience here. I got to meet with people from the communities and learn their perspective of what it means to heal people. This program also allowed me to solidify my career choice of wanting to become nurse, which I am extremely grateful for.
My time in Belize taught me about more than just about health but also about humanity. It's no secret that an experience abroad does make you more worldly, but Loop Abroad and CELA BElize did a fantastic job of promoting travel and tourism through an ethical and culturally-inclusive lens. I'm grateful for the diversity of food, activities, and friends.
My favorite activity was helping out with the check-ups in the Arenal communities. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful and the support staff were very friendly and helped us navigate the town.
