Chinese Cultural Immersion in China | Teacher Homestay
Program Overview
Immerse yourself in Chinese culture while improving your Mandarin through an authentic homestay experience in China.
Designed for learners aged 16+ who want a deeper connection with local traditions, our 1–4 week Cultural Immersion Program combines a homestay with a professional Chinese teacher and their family, 10 hours of personalised Mandarin lessons each week, and two hands-on cultural activities. Choose from experiences such as Chinese calligraphy, cooking, tea ceremony, traditional crafts, and more. Each activity is led or accompanied by your teacher, so you can practise Mandarin as you learn traditional skills and gain a deeper understanding of their cultural significance.
Your homestay includes accommodation in your teacher’s home with breakfast, providing a natural setting to build confidence in Mandarin through everyday conversations while experiencing daily life in a Chinese home.
The program can be personalised with extra lessons, cultural activities, meal options, day trips, or multi-city stays to experience different regions of China.

Last October 2023, I had been studying Chinese (Mandarin ??) for almost three years, mostly through a diploma in modern languages at a university in Australia. For this reason, I was keen to go to China to improve my language skills and also delve into the culture of a country I have never visited, even though my mother is 100% Southern Chinese by DNA (Cantonese). So when LingoInn offered a scholarship competition opportunity on their Instagram account, I immediately wanted to enter it with the hope that I might finally be able to visit for several weeks.
