KVT places volunteer teachers in schools near Mount Kilimanjaro — from government institutions to private and religious schools. Before you step into your own role, local teachers will orient you to the school environment and the Tanzanian way of delivering lessons, so you're fully prepared from day one.

Your primary responsibilities are teaching English and mathematics and supporting local teachers with classroom management. Many volunteers also extend their impact into the community — working with adults seeking literacy support and families affected by HIV/AIDS who benefit from health education.

KVT keeps cohorts small, which means more hands-on support, closer community integration, and real classroom experience that stands out on a CV or teaching application. Flexible start dates available. Minimum 4 weeks recommended for meaningful student progress.
