Tree Planting Eco Festival Volunteering in South Africa
Join a mass action project in South Africa this summer, and take a hands-on role in helping with reforestation and environmental education the fun way—an eco festival. People of all ages from around the globe come together to help with reforesting. The festival will take place in the stunning Garden Route. The initiative aims to address decades of widespread deforestation through the planting of indigenous trees, removal of alien vegetation, introduction of ecosystem processes to the locals. Project activities include mass tree planting, painting of murals, dancing and jamming around a campfire, guided hikes, and so much more. To date, 30,000 trees have already been planted, which is an incredible achievement. This really is a fantastic way of working directly with the community to address environmental damage. You don’t need specific skills to participate, as long as you’re fit and healthy and able to get stuck in with physical tasks. Enthusiasm and a willingness to do what is required is necessary, along with a spirit of adventure and passion for the environment. Kids below 13 years old are accepted as part of a family group.
