Sustainable Food Security Project in Belize

Program Overview
Volunteer with Kaya on this organic farming and food security project in Belize and empower young mothers and disadvantaged youths to take control of their food sources and help ensure they have a good supply of nutritious food. This project is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support young people and women in becoming less reliant on unhealthy and expensive imports by helping them plant and grow organic produce.
As a volunteer, you will be participating in a range of activities. You will help grow heirloom fruits and vegetables and assist in conducting nutrition and agro-processing workshops.
Participants in this project must be ready to get their hands dirty and willing to adapt to the needs of the project. Those with skills and experience working with crops and who have an interest in organic farming and nutrition will definitely enjoy this placement.
