Music, Dance, & Art Therapy for Children with Special Needs

Music, dance, and art therapy is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy that focuses on engaging the senses through physical movement, audio and creativity to help children to express themselves. This can relieve tension and help the body and mind heal from anxiety and stress.

All volunteers must have a minimum A2 level CEFR Spanish knowledge to be able to communicate with the local staff and children during activities. Apart from language skills, volunteers must be patient, passionate, creative and able to work and collaborate well with children.

The centre offers loads of different programs for children aged 12 and over that volunteers can get involved in:

• Academic artistic - arts, music, reading and other academic areas like computing and sports.
• Therapeutic art supporting - music, dance, arts and crafts.
• Day Care - life skills, group work and autonomy development.
• Learning therapy - educational activities for employment.
• Musical artistic development - developing creativity.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the communities that we have the pleasure of visiting. It is also a rewarding way to gain experience and see other cultures. This project specifically supports children and young adults with disabilities in disadvantaged communities who are often unsupported by society. You will help project leaders create an impact on the children's and young adult’s lives by developing creativity and autonomy.
