Program Overview

Volunteer in local kindergartens in stunning Ubud. Help and encourage children to learn and grow creatively as you teach them language, communication, and other primary skills. Placements are available in over 15 kindergarten schools. Teach children basic English in an informal and fun way!

You may also volunteer at a center that offers free kindergarten education to several 4 and 5-year-old kids from poor villages. These local children are warm and affectionate and would rather spend time playing than learning! Kindergarten teaching in Bali, like throughout the world, is informal, and children will want to play with you more than be ‘taught’ formally. However, just by getting them enthused about coming to school and teaching them some basic English phrases, such as simple greetings, you may well have sown the seeds of a lifelong learning habit and done a great, enjoyable job in the process.

The children will all be excited to see you and will be exceptionally welcoming. This is due partly to the natural and genuine friendliness of the Balinese and partly to the fact that you will be one of a few foreigners they have met!

Kindergarten program

I went for four weeks in Bali to teach English in a kindergarten to children. I made it throug games and exercises. They were very friendly and respectful. They have immediately considered me as their teacher. They knew very little English but all that I had to do was smile and use gestures. For any help I could asked to the teacher who knew English. One week the school was closed for a celebration so I cleaned a beach and I started a new activitie to renovate a school. I also participated at a celebration and it was very interesting! It was a really good experience that I suggest for everyone! Local team was fun and helpful. I ate local food but not only and everything was delicious! Every Thursday there was a special dinner with all the staff and the volunteers! My accomodation was simple but good.
