IVHQ has opportunities to work in childcare centers in and around Delhi, as well as in kindergartens in Kerala, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn and play. IVHQ has opportunities to work in childcare centers in and around Delhi, as well as in kindergartens in Kerala, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn and play. Day care centers in India are often extremely full with children due to a lack of appropriate facilities. These day care centers (who care for children from very poor families whose parents have to work during the day) face many problems such as a lack of funding, lack of resources and lack of help. Volunteers who work in childcare focus on helping with English, homework and general games. Volunteers also assist children with other aspects of their education, through taking extracurricular lessons and helping with general education on life skills such as personal hygiene.

The local team was always available to suggest activities and flexible with any kind of need during my stay at the accommodation. It was the strongest experience I have ever had. I feel like a newborn person. I recommend this experience to anyone who has a sensibility and empathy to feel like there is a place for us in this world. I am very grateful.

The local team were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Always up for a laugh! I was so hesitant, especially as I was flying across the world on my own, but it’s the best experience I’ve ever had and has definitely changed me as a person. This has given me so much more confidence and won’t ever take anything for granted.
