Volunteers help run games, cultural and educational activities, English and other basic lessons, arts or crafts, and personality-building exercises. At the end of the break the children often prepare a small cultural presentation for their parents featuring songs, dances, and performances. This project is offered during school holidays in July and August. Volunteers aged 18 or older (or families travelling together) take part Tuesday to Friday for around three to five hours each day. Program Highlights
Program runs each year during the school holidays in July and August
Duration from 1 to 12 weeks
Includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation in a homestay or volunteer house, meals and 24/7 in-country support
Volunteer 3 to 5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday, helping run holiday-time programmes for children from low-income families in Quito
Assist with lessons, organise games and activities, teach English, lead arts and crafts, and help prepare a final presentation where children perform songs, dances or plays for their parents
