I personally had the best experience because of how good the local team was.

I have gained so much like connections with people all across the world, learned and appreciated deeply another very different culture to mine and soooo much more. I would give the advice that you should do it, you only gain by volunteering trips, also the IVHQ team is very helpful both before you go with any questions and while you are there. I personally had the best experience because of how good the local team was, so trust the local team you are all there for a good cause.

I would advise someone that it is a life changing experience that has only benefits.

I became more open minded and learned a new culture during my time teaching. I would advise someone that it is a life changing experience that has only benefits. In addition it helps you grow as a person.

I have grown as a person by having this experience.

I believe that I have grown as a person by having this experience and I was exposed to a different side of the world that I am not used to seeing. I would advise any person joining this program to enter it with an open mind and low expectations in order to have an experience of a lifetime

Teaching english in bali was truly special.

Teaching English in Bali was truly special. The kids were full of joy, and seeing them excited to learn gave me real purpose. I also got to connect deeply with the local culture. I wish I could stay for longer, which I surely will do for my next program If you’re unsure—just go for it. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

The beauty of life’s simplicity

This experience taught me to deeply appreciate every opportunity and the beauty of life’s simplicity. The cultural exchange, the kindness of the local communities, and the genuine gratitude from the children and teachers in remote village schools moved me profoundly. Giving a little meant so much to them — and in return, I gained perspective, humility, and unforgettable human connection.

Discovering my own potential

It was the most fulfilling experience. It was not just about helping others—it was about discovering my own potential, stepping out of my comfort zone, and realizing how much of a difference we can make, even in small ways. To someone thinking of joining I would just say to go for it. The people you meet, the stories you hear, and the impact you feel will stay with you long after the project ends.

Teaching in Lovina

Volunteering in Lovina, Bali, with IVHQ was an incredible experience that I would encourage anyone to do. From the moment I started to look for volunteering opportunities, the website was very informative and the staff were exceptional in replying to my queries. Once I had signed up there is a comprehensive guide, including; videos, do's and don'ts and what additional things to factor in before travelling that put me right at ease. On arrival in Bali, the local team were ready to collect me and were so accommodating. They couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and part of their family. In addition to my volunteering experience, the local team allowed me to explore Lovina and beyond to help me fully understand and appreciate the Balinese culture. I work as a teacher in the UK and decided to travel to volunteer on the teaching programme. Having the opportunity to assist in Kindergarten was a delight, the children were so sweet and the teachers were incredible at making me feel welcome in their classrooms. In the afternoons, I attended school and had my own class delivering English to the children as an extra-curricular opportunity. The local team provided me with a curriculum guide, classroom resources, translator and were able to get any additional worksheets photocopied if required. The accommodation was perfect, 200m from the beach and located in Lovina, away from the tourist areas so you had the true experience of Bali. The rooms were clean and had an ensuite. The staff were super helpful and the food was superb, varied everyday and also catered for dietary needs. I strongly urge anyone to take the opportunity to volunteer at least once in their life if you are able to do this. IVHQ will help you from start to finish with a full range of programmes and countries on offer!

One of a kind experience!

Volunteering with IVHQ is truly a mesmerising and unforgettable experience! From the first day until the last day of the trip, I felt part of one, big family. This experience was not only life-changing but well beyond. The program was extremely well organised and our program coordinator was always available to us and very helpful and knowledgeable about everything we needed and especially the work we were doing. Obviously, the first time you travel to a developing country such as Indonesia, you hear about the poverty and issues that local people are experiencing. But the fact of being present there really put things into perspective. I felt so different and especially humbled after spending two weeks there, teaching the children basic English and getting to learn more about the culture and the way of life of local inhabitants. I am just so glad I didn’t let fear stop me from coming here. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming and I am thankful to everyone during these two amazing weeks. Finally, some people say that travelling to a different country can sometimes be difficult, but the support and help offered by IVHQ, throughout the whole process, make you feel at home! From the first day to the moment of departure, they were there for me and for anything I needed! I hope to be able to volunteer again with IVHQ and make a change in the future!

My experience volunteering in Bali!

My experience volunteering in Bali, Lovina with IVHQ was unforgettable. For just over 2 weeks I participated in the Kindergarten Support & Teaching program and already cannot wait to go back someday very soon. The housing was very welcoming making it easy to meet others and feel at home. There was lots of traditional food offered at the house giving a small taste of what Bali’s culture has to offer every day. A cool thing about this program is that half of your weekday is spent at schools teaching children and the other half of your day is spent doing something for the community such as, cleaning beaches or the streets of garbage. This made my experience in Bali, Lovina even more rewarding than I could have imagined. On weekends I would venture off with other volunteers and had the chance to see what other beauty Bali had to offer in different towns. For anyone considering in participating in this experience, I would highly recommend. I hope all who participate have the time of their lives, just as I did.

2 weeks in Ubud, Bali

This is my first volunteer trip, and it has been a perfect start. Before traveling, my IVHQ program manage responded to each of my email quickly and answered my questions, which made me feel much less nervous about traveling abroad. As soon as I arrived in Bali, the local team greeted me with hospitality. Travelling as a volunteer is a great way to embrace the local culture. In the introduction week, we enjoyed a series of activities, including local dance, painting, cooking classes, visiting a famous Temple in beautiful Balinese clothing and so on. In the following week I taught in a local primary school. This provides me with a closer insight to the local culture and has triggered my careful thinking on region and way of life. IVHQ has made my trip to Bali unique, as I not only enjoyed the scenery, but felt like I was a part of the exotic Balinese culture as well. My accommodation was in a village in the artistic town of Ubud. At dawn, a walk around the village is just one of the best ways to feel the culture and interact with local people. The villagers are friendly and sincere. One evening a friend and I even joined a dance practice with local ladies. In Tuesday and Thursday evenings, there are free shuttles to Ubud center, so we did a lot of shopping and drinking on these evenings. The accommodation provides traditional Balinese food. Also, I love the wide range of fruits (dragon fruits especially!). The homestay, including bedrooms, shower rooms and toilets are well-cleaned. The staff there are nice and helpful. Besides their duties, they helped a lot with my weekend trip plans.
