Program Overview
Join the Medical Campaign program in San José, Costa Rica with International Volunteer HQ and support vital community health efforts in the heart of the capital city. Volunteers assist in local clinics and outreach initiatives by helping with basic medical care, health education, first aid support, and community health services. This placement is ideal for students, gap-year travellers, or anyone eager to contribute to global health and community welfare.
Your hosted volunteer experience includes airport pick-up, a full orientation, shared volunteer house or homestay accommodation depending on placement, two meals daily, and 24/7 support from the local team. Before departure you will also receive pre-departure guidance from your IVHQ Program Manager and access to training tools to help you feel prepared for your role.
Programs begin every Monday. Volunteers join a welcoming international community and have the opportunity to experience Costa Rica’s rich culture, urban life, and nearby natural landscapes while making a meaningful impact on community health and wellbeing.
