Program Overview

Volunteers in this project support the protection and welfare of Asian elephants in Nepal. You will assist at elephant centres or in nearby natural habitats as teams work to improve living conditions and monitor elephant health and behaviour. This role offers a chance to contribute to wildlife conservation while experiencing Nepal’s natural beauty.

Your typical duties include feeding elephants and preparing nutritious food, cleaning enclosures, helping maintain habitats, collecting data on elephant behaviour and well-being, and supporting educational awareness sessions for children and community members. All tasks are supervised by experienced local staff, and safety protocols are strictly followed. No prior animal care experience is required.

This placement suits caring and flexible volunteers who love animals, respect wildlife and are comfortable with rural living. You should be willing to follow guidance carefully, work hard as part of a team and be ready to adapt to local conditions. A friendly attitude and respect for local customs will help you integrate smoothly with the staff and community.
