Experience maternal and newborn care in action through International Medical Aid’s Midwifery Internships. This program is designed for student midwives, nursing students, pre-health undergraduates, and recent graduates who are drawn to the field of maternal-child health.
Interns observe antenatal clinics, labor and delivery units, and postnatal wards where midwives and obstetric teams manage routine pregnancies as well as high-risk cases. You’ll see assessments, counseling, labor support, immediate newborn care, and community-based education on topics such as nutrition, newborn care, and family planning. All observation is conducted within strict ethical guidelines, and interns do not perform independent procedures.
