Summer in Fashion Design Capsule Collection - IED Florence

Creative workshops, company visits, trade fairs, and seminars with industry pros enhance lessons. Florence, with its centuries-old fashion and manufacturing tradition, has an enviable international reputation in fashion, craftsmanship, design, and innovation. In this unique setting, you and your peers will observe and analyze current creative trends.

This three-week course covers fashion history, trend research, and techniques. Students will learn drawing, patternmaking, and tailoring to create a capsule collection as the Final Project. They will identify current trends and industry leaders in Italy, develop organizational skills through teamwork, and study research methods, key concepts, and tools for a collection project. Students will meet professionals via lectures or showroom visits, with active participation essential.

The course is intended for students who have competence or basic professional expertise in the area of study and are interested in developing their professional skills. Participants must be familiar with the main features of Fashion Design and keen to understand the key design tools.
