Italian Creativity: Fashion, Art and Design Como - Florence

IED's Foundation Year Program in Florence is a pre-university course designed for students who want to build a strong creative foundation before pursuing higher education in fashion, design, or the visual arts at Italy's top academic institutions. The program balances theoretical study with hands-on practice, using industry-standard tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Students develop an individual portfolio through practical lab work and specialized workshops, supported by a dedicated personal tutor throughout the year. A built-in Italian language and culture module runs from the first day to the last, strengthening both academic readiness and cultural integration. Guided visits to major fashion, art, and design events across Florence and beyond bring classroom learning into the real world. For underage international students, curated homestay accommodation is available through a partnership with BEC – British European Center, providing a safe and culturally enriching living environment. This structured, high-level program prepares students for the demands of Italy's most respected creative institutions.
