Furniture Design - Spring Semester IED Florence

The Spring semester in Furniture design provides insight into Italian furnishing culture and the manufacturing and design process in the product supply chain. It reviews major case histories and examines cultural, morphological, and technical factors behind Italian furniture success, emphasizing key quality factors. Lessons are held Monday to Friday, morning and/or afternoon.

This education combines lectures, labs, and team projects led by industry experts. It covers knowledge of domestic spaces, tech tools, production, and materials, highlighting understanding of company values aligned with market trends. After researching Italian design and new trends in materials, forms, and technology, you'll focus on innovative furniture and interior coatings. You will also design furniture and decor for various spaces. The semester features a visit to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, a key furniture event.

This intermediate program is for students with at least one year of experience in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or Architecture Design. Applicants must be skilled in drawing, sketching, rendering, computer graphics, model making, and verbal communication.
