Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design - IED Rome

The Interior Design Bachelor’s Degree at IED Roma trains students to design safe, comfortable, and engaging spaces that enhance quality of life and relationships. Located in Rome's open-air laboratory, the program emphasizes creating inclusive, sustainable environments responsive to social change.

Over three years, students design public and private spaces such as offices, schools, hospitals, museums, retail spaces, event venues, villas, and residential buildings. The course develops the skills needed to design new spaces or manage refurbishment projects, combining functionality, aesthetics, and human experience.

The program follows a practical, human-centred approach. Students learn the full creative process through research, concept development, 3D modelling, photorealistic rendering, and digital prototyping. Strong emphasis is placed on sustainability, materials, light, sound, colour, and furnishings.

Hands-on lab sessions and real-life projects with cultural institutions in Rome strengthen professional readiness. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Arts degree (180 ECTS) and are prepared for diverse careers in interior, retail, hospitality, exhibition, and concept design.
