Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

Established in 1982 in the United Kingdom, Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary has been dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals for over 40 years. Initially operating under the name 'Animal Concern', our founder, Pauline Leeson, began the mission from her own home with the support of foster carers. In March 1992, thanks to a generous benefactor, we acquired our current site in Barrow Gurney, transforming it into the sanctuary known today. We provide care and protection for animals in need due to illness, injury, maltreatment, neglect, or abandonment. Each year, we rescue and rehome around 800 cats and dogs, ensuring they find loving, permanent homes.
