Traveling through Patagonia, Colorado, and Utah, you'll develop your backpacking or rock climbing skills, leadership style, and personal environmental ethic. You'll investigate critical local issues and volunteer as an environmental steward. Living with a small group of peers and instructors, you'll hone your communication and teamwork skills, building confidence and resilience that will set you up for your next steps.

HMI offers fall (80 days) and spring (60 days) traveling gap semester options for high school graduates and current college students. You have the option to enroll in two different 3-credit courses through Western Colorado University.
