My GVI experience was everything I was hoping it would be and more!!

My GVI experience was everything I was hoping it would be and more!! All the volunteers and staff are so welcoming and immediately bring you in as part of the family. Everyone is so happy and excited to help guide and teach you about the projects, activities and life on base. I would 100% recommend this program to anyone who wants to travel and is really invested in conservation or community initiatives. If you're hesitant about becoming a GVI member, this is your sign to just do it! I'm not the most extroverted person, and I've had a wonderful time here in Phang Nga. Even though I was only there for a month I was able to bond and make so many friends! It really feels like a home away from home.

It was an amazing experience!

It was an amazing experience! Every single person, volunteer or staff, that I met inspired me in some way. The quote ?magic happens right outside your comfort zone? rang very true. I learned so much about myself and the world (and sea turtles!) by trying things I never had considered doing in my normal life at home. You truly leave with a different perception on life and a sense of inspiration to carry home the values you practiced while on base and at project.

I started GVI with no conservation experience, but after six months I can confidently say I can pursue a career in conservation. Plus I have had so much fun on the way meeting new people all the time and exploring Thailand.
