India Community Development Service Learning for Groups

My most positive experience was working with the children. The staff on the programme, the accommodation, everything was well above my expectations. The experience I had with GVI was easily accessed, well supported and a fantastic experience.

Teaching and interacting with all the children was the biggest highlight of my trip. Working in a daycare in the local community, at a boy's orphanage and beginning a new program at a school for disabled children was an amazing experience and life changing. I also met a lot of fantastic people, all of the staff and the other volunteers were great. Being able to be given the opportunity to actually live in a local community for 3 months will be something which I hold on to for life and never forget.

The program was fantastic and despite the initial mix up with with the initial meeting, everything went very smoothly. The staff were brilliant and catered to all of our needs and made it a very enjoyable experience. The teaching experience was exceptionally rewarding and this was in no small part due to the organisation of Channel Youth and their dedication to continuous improvement. The kids were amazing and the whole experience is now a treasured memory. Side trips were great and a really good extra of the volunteer program.
