Teaching Internship (with TEFL Certificate) in Asia & Europe

This is a great opportunity to get an advanced qualification to teach English. The funding is very generous and the support from the GotoCo team makes it easier to begin living and working in a new country. The GotoCo team are incredibly supportive of mental health and this is essential when moving to a new country away from your support network at home. Overall, because GotoCo funds the Trinity College London CertTESOL course, this programme was great for my professional development as I have completed the qualification and also gained experience as a teacher working in Colombia. Additionally, I’ve become more confident in myself and got a new job as a teacher in Bogotá. As part of the programme I worked at a school in a small town outside of Bogotá called Mosquera. I really enjoyed my experience working at Innova Mosquera. It was great that there was 4 of us there and I was able to build a good relationship with the staff and students there. As part of the programme, GotoCo runs trips, meals, and weekends away with the cohort. A highlight for me, and some I’ll never forget is the trip we did to Rio de Miel and jeep rides around Colombia!

This was my second year going abroad with Gotoco. Teaching abroad is an amazing opportunity to both travel and explore a work culture which is -in this case- different to the Western one. As a university student, I believe a Gotoco programme is definitely something to try out before entering the job market, as it broadens your horizons and helps you gain confidence and clarity as to which your future career goals are. It may be challenging and not quite as you expected, but it's a unique experience that you'll treasure forever!

I cannot emphasise this enough, if you’ve got time to spare during the summer holiday with no long time plan, gotoco is the place to be. You will be taken to a country you never expect to be in and unlike other programs gotoco is incredible cheap and extremely for anybody who wants to participate.
