Program Overview

This 3-day gorilla trekking safari from Kigali offers one of the fastest and most convenient ways to experience the endangered mountain gorillas of Uganda. The journey begins in Kigali, where travellers enjoy a short city tour including a meaningful visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history and resilience.

From Kigali, the adventure continues with a scenic drive through Rwanda’s famous “Land of a Thousand Hills” before crossing into Uganda and arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

The highlight of the safari is trekking through the dense rainforest with experienced guides to find a habituated gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, visitors spend a magical hour observing them up close as they feed, play, and interact in their natural environment.

Visitors also visit the Batwa community. This short safari is best for travellers with limited time but wish to visit both Rwanda and Uganda.

This safari is operated by Gorilla Safari Consultants, a locally owned Uganda safari company specializing in gorilla trekking and wildlife tours across East Africa.
