learned much knowledge

Making houses was quite difficult for me at beginning. But after the leader Eat and my teammate Caesar taught me some methods and skills, I eventually got to success through trying and trying again. I’d like to tell you that I had a lot of fun in making international new friends and communicate with them. I learned much knowledge about their own country and culture. It’s quite fun in this process.

The whole experience there was pretty great, the local team was nice and warm to introduce everything, I was even lucky to know two guys from Germany, which is really a new and fun experience for me. Thanks GoEco

Learning in the project

What I liked the most was what I’ve learned during my stay at the project, and how I could interact with locals in a small town. I think that if the final goal was clearer, the project could win with it (for example if there was already a family selected to take the house.

Best way to experience Thailand

After a 3-week trip to different parts of Thailand (the volunteer project, Chiang Mai and Koh Phangan), this volunteer project was my favorite part of the trip mainly for two reasons: crew and culture. Local crew is awesome and they make the project fun and interesting to learn about at the same time. Got to engage with locals who don't speak as much English which made it fun to practice basic Thai phrases and learn about their situation. And a better glimpse into the culture. Chiang Mai and other islands are a lot more Westernized. The other places have a lot to offer but if you want to experience Thailand, you have to find something fun and rewarding like this project. Other than those two, the food is great and they coordinate some good field trips to get some more Thai experiences such as going to a local night market and visiting a Buddhist temple. There was nothing bad about the trip but I was confused about the logistics when I first started. GoEco is the company that coordinates the project through the local company called Green Lion which leads this volunteer project. Green Lion has more projects available beyond the Clay Construction such as teaching and cultural immersion. I didn't do this but I hear the "Hill Tribe" experience is amazing. Definitely would have looked into this more had I known.
