Spain – Marine Conservation in Barcelona

During my volunteering with the GOECO and IMPACT in the marine conservation program, one of the most memorable experiences was participating in cleaning up plastic and wet wipes from the ocean. To work with volunteers and the local dive team that care about the ocean was so important for me, and to see the amount of waste that we collected from the water was both shocking and motivating. Seeing the immediate impact of our efforts reinforced the importance of marine conservation work and left a lasting impression on me. Thank you for everything.

I would like to thank all the volunteers and the coordinators who help set up the course and program- all of you as a team are creating a great impact, thank you! Scuba diving with all the volunteers was great as we were able to see many fish and help rescuing plastic from under the ocean- where its most complicated.

My most memorable experiences a the Coast and Marine Conservation in Denia program were the Beach clean ups and hikes. Kind of program that is all ages. If you are bad with people I would recommend doing the program with a friend.

The most memorable experience was definitely the scuba diving, it's something i never thought i would have the opportunity to do, and it was amazing! The whole experience was one of the best things i have ever done.

The GoEco support team is very professional and responsive from before to after the program. They replied quickly to my emails about different questions and requests. The volunteer work, the local team and facilities are way beyond my expectation. Nice environment and living situation, the local coordinators are very hospitable. I had a lot of fun while learning and working during my stay. It was overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend to other people.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time volunteering in Denia. This programme allowed me to fully embrace the Spanish culture as the coordinators were both local. I made friends from all over the world and made memories I will never forget. I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of volunteering!
