Shlomo was just perfect
September 07, 2019by: Laura ZiffeShlomo was just perfect. He went above and beyond to make sure that I had a very meaningful experience. He coordinated with an assisted living facility so that I could also spend time there. It was amazing to interact with the residents.Yan went above and beyond to make sure that I had an excellent overall experience when it came to knowing about and understanding both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. He was fabulous
Super fun!
August 07, 2019by: Elena ForadoriI found this experience at the Study Spanish and Work with Children program in Argentina to be challenging, educational and also super fun! I found a friendly environment and supporting and open people.
An unforgettable week
February 07, 2019by: Lauren Kendall - AustraliaI was lucky enough to be able to teach a year 5 and 6 class maths, English and science during my stay. Unfortunately I only stayed for a week. I would definitely recommend staying for longer than this as you quickly build a connection with the children and a week flies by. It was so rewarding to see the progress of the children in only one week so I can just imagine how rewarding it would be to see their progress over a longer period of time. The community of other volunteers also made the stay worthwhile. A great number of friends were made with people from all over the world. GoEco made this stay easy with all the paperwork and information completed prior to leaving to begin the volunteering. I also liked how there was only a one day introduction which allowed us to get straight into the program whilst still learning a bit about the culture.
My experience was amazing
August 15, 2018by: Olivia BoisroundMy experience was amazing, I had the opportunity to paint a whole new mural on the entry door of the temple's shrine and was so excited by the project. We finished it in time, and we were so pleased to discover what we can do with our knowledge and strength! I loved the project itself, and the freedom and independence they gave us regarding our work.
I loved spending time with the children
July 23, 2018by: Jin Joo HaThe volunteer project was my favorite part of the day and I loved spending time with the children at my project. I wish I could've stayed longer because I definitely enjoyed being able to help the kids with their work and being able to play and have fun with them. I was originally a bit skeptical when I was given my volunteer placement because there were only about 15 kids. I was definitely expecting a lot more and different ages. However, after 3 months I fell in love with the project and the kids, which made me want to stay longer. Fortunately, I met the right people who helped me find an apartment and a job, so I was able to stay another 3 months. At my goodbye party at the project, it was incredibly emotional and nobody wanted to say goodbye. After 6 months of getting to know these children, they practically became my own. I will never forget these children and I hope that I will be able to return soon. Thanks GoEco for the giving me the opportunity to have such an amazing experience! This has truly been a once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope others will have just as great of an experience as I did.
Awesome experience!
July 19, 2018by: David KolakowskiMy experience was absolutely amazing! It was definitely the best trip I have taken so far in my life. The volunteering experience was incredibly rewarding. Being able to help teach 3-6 year old children english and see the progress each week was a true blessing. Also, helping the 13-15 year old kids learn how to surf and stay out of trouble was a lot of fun and satisfying as well. In addition to volunteering, I was able to go surfing a ton, explore Cape Town very thoroughly, and do some awesome adventures to other parts of South Africa on the weekends. There were so many things I enjoyed about the project, but 2 stick out. 1. The impact I was able to have on the children in the township 2. The amazing friends I was able to make who were from all over the world. This trip was so great and everything I could have asked for.
I really enjoyed the interaction
July 12, 2018by: Kellie HanserI really enjoyed my six week stay in Fiji. Prior to signing up for the program, I did not think I'd get such a strong insight into the Fijian culture. What I enjoyed the most was the diversity of all of the volunteers. It was very cool to interact with people from not only Fiji, but other countries as well. The education program was a very rewarding experience and although I was only teaching for six weeks, I feel like I made somewhat of a difference in the students' educational lives. Everything was wonderful! I really enjoyed the interaction because the volunteers and the villagers and how it was a close-knit community.
Overall I had a fantastic experience!
July 11, 2018by: Henrique DanielOverall I had a fantastic experience! I became friends with wonderful people and felt like I really made a difference in the lives of the people I helped. The project staff provided lots of insight and support. There was also time to go on outings on the weekends and in the evenings. I found this to be extremely educational and enjoyable! My highlight of the trip was meeting new people and helping the people at the disabled home.
Incredible
July 04, 2018by: Susan NestorThere are really no words that can summarize the experience that I had these past two months. All I can say is I am beyond grateful for the opportunity and it has forever changed me. Everything was wonderful. The people, places, food, culture. All around such an incredible experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Being on the ocean all day was amazing
July 03, 2018by: Stuart GrauerI really enjoyed the time on the water and when we would spot Dolphins or whales it was extremely exciting. Most of the time was spent sleeping, eating, and taking watch. I arrived one day earlier and it would have been nice to be able to just stay on the boat an extra night instead of having to get a place to stay. Being on the ocean all day was amazing and I had a lot of self reflection. When we would spot animals it was very rewarding.
I learned a lot
June 28, 2018by: Radu TolontanI went to the volunteer project in Greece working with Sea Turtle conservation. I met some amazing people that I will stay friends with. And I got to learn all about sea turtles while also working to protect their nest and save stranded turtles. It was great to meet so many diverse people that ended up getting along so well. And I learned a lot about conservation which can help my career later in life.
I would do it again for sure
June 27, 2018by: Martha CrowleySince I am only 16 years old, I can easily say that this has been the most amazing experience of my life. I would do it again for sure. I enjoyed bonding with the children over at the Disabled Home. The kids were great and very fond of all the volunteers.
I enjoyed pretty much everything!
June 26, 2018by: Lucie KeuyalianI worked at the preschool in Kandy in the morning and then tutored village kids in the afternoon. I would wake up, make breakfast, walk to preschool, play and do arts and crafts with the preschoolers from 9 until 12:30, walk back in time for lunch, take a short nap, go to village kids for a few hours, then walk home with the rest of the night to relax, eat, and play cards with the many friends I had. I enjoyed pretty much everything! I made some amazing new friends, including many staff members, I loved my location but mostly I loved my project. I loved the kids and the teachers and my beautiful walks to the school and the village kids home and the house!
I enjoyed everything!
June 26, 2018by: Klara GoettkeI enjoyed everything! I loved the community's and schools we worked in, and the management of the program, it was an amazing experienced. I came as a shy 17 year old, but left as an experiences and outgoing girl. The volunteers were so beyond nice, it was like we were family by the end of the 2 weeks. I loved playing sports with the different schools, it opened my eyes to so much. I would not change this experience fore anything.
Amazing experience
June 26, 2018by: Kendall PerryThe kids, the traveling and meeting new people were amazing. Spending time with the kids even though they can't communicate with you is probably where I really made connections with them. Feeding them was a lot of fun and is a part where I felt I was really helping the nurses.
I had a wonderful and uplifting experience
June 22, 2018by: Hannah ReesI had a wonderful and uplifting experience. The girls were welcoming and treated me like family. I loved the welcoming attitude of the nuns and young girls that I worked with. Although the girls' personal circumstances were challenging, they welcomed me with open arms and I really enjoyed spending time with them.
I most enjoyed working on the street project
June 22, 2018by: Gizela RenkelI most enjoyed working on the street project in Delhi because I felt that this place was valuable to the children as it helped keep them off the street whilst still socialising with their friends and improving their literacy and numeracy skills.
I enjoyed the work itself
June 19, 2018by: Ariella ApplebaumI enjoyed the work itself. Painting a classroom sometimes felt meditative and peaceful. I also enjoyed seeing the kids in the school running around during recess. The other volunteers for other activities of the project were also great people who were extremely inclusive.
I felt useful and learned a lot also
May 09, 2018by: Ruth BerryYou are a great staff. You provided excellent advance information, and excellent "on-the-ground" help. My assignment at the school plant nursery with Shlomo was perfect. I felt useful and learned a lot also. Yan, my volunteer support person, gave me such important help in catching buses, trams, securing my items in my room and overview of my assignment. Thanks so much for a lifetime, special experience.
I loved the whole experience
April 03, 2018by: Ruth BerryThis GoEco program was very well-designed program. I loved the staff, from Yan greeting/ helping me to Schlomo's guidance and friendship at the school. My work was varied and productive. I loved the whole experience and coming "home" to my hostel.
