A wonderful experience and a very professional team. A great opportunity to have contact with wild animals, help a sustainable project and gain experience in field work. Absolutely recommended.

Amazing and beautiful

Program: Kenya - Masai Mara Lion and Wildlife Conservation

The animals were of course amazing and beautiful, but the people I met were incredible. The Masa people were so nice and friendly and so talented at what they do. I had a great time and couldn't have ask for a better experience. The guides were excellent, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. The Chiefs were awesome and made amazing food. I am a vegetarian and they always made sure I had enough food.

We encountered buffalo chasing lions!

We woke up and headed out for our early Monday morning game drive and within 10 minutes we encountered buffalo chasing lions! Yes, that way round! The lions had killed a baby buffalo near the camp during the night and the buffalo were chasing them away from it. The chased them for probably about 2 hours!

The incredible attraction of the famous migration over the Masai Mara has brought with it some conflict in competition for resources such as predator's praying on local livestock, and the Masai people not being as involved in the tourism project as would be hoped. The aims of this project are to ensure that the Mara remains a valuable source of income for the country and to increase local community involvement in the tourism process. Additionally, the project aims to monitor and research some of Africa's most endangered wildlife, and in partner with a Big Cat Monitoring project volunteers will help monitor the movement of prides of lions, leopards and cheetahs within the conservancy, as well as the interaction between lions and the local communities.
