Easy and fun way to get into the ski industry
March 18, 2024by: Toby Jacobs - AustraliaProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Japan, with Training and Job
EA run a well organised and planned program to get people into the industry. They adapt to the snow conditions to provide the best experience possible. All trainers were very knowledgeable and helpful in the process of training and examination.
Thank You Toby for the great review! Much appreciated! Glad that you found the experience beneficial and a learning experience! - EA Ski & Snowboard Training Team
Good time

I feel like I’ve been over charged for the experience I’ve got. I thought I would have 3 weeks of training before my exam and due to the winter being late this season I’ve lost money. I would love if some amount of that is refunded
An amazing experience!!!
December 15, 2023by: Kayleigh Falconer - AustraliaProgram: Winter Gap Year - Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor!
The Slopes at Castle Mountain Resort in Alberta are of great quality! You won't get bored here, regardless of your skiing/board skills. The powder in the 2022/2023 season was off the charts ? Having skilled instructors help you though getting your level 1 & 2 was so helpful and having a helping hand when you first arrive in Canada was amazing and so easy! 100% recommend this program ?
Kayleigh, we’re so glad to have supported you on the journey to becoming an instructor at Castle Mountain Resort. It’s our mission to make this process smooth and provide high quality training. It’s fantastic to know that our team made a positive impact on your development and that you had a lot of fun. Thank you for recommending our program! -The EA Team.
Best thing I’ve ever done
December 15, 2023by: Allie Burke - United StatesProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in New Zealand - Training Included
This program was the most rewarding, fulfilling, and enjoyable thing I’ve ever done in my life. From the day, I landed in New Zealand to the day that I left, everyone was welcoming, helpful and encouraging. I went through training with a group of other young adults who were super friendly and cool, and then we all got jobs together as ski instructors. We became really close over the course of the season, and I still consider them to be some of my closest friends. I never would have been able to move across the world and pursue this dream of mine, had it not been for EA. I never would’ve met some of my favorite people, never would’ve gotten to experience the tight-knit community on the mountain, and never would’ve experienced the personal growth and development that have made me who I am today. I always recommend this program to everyone I talk to and, if I could, I’d do it all again.
Hi Allie, thank you for making us smile with your kind words. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the program and have formed lasting friendships with other participants. Your journey of personal growth and development is inspiring, we're honoured to have helped you follow your dreams. We can’t thank you enough for encouraging others to experience this opportunity too. -The EA Team.

Good time, poor management
December 14, 2023by: Luc Yassin - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Japan, with Training and Job
EA contracted everything out to ski instructors on the ground. These instructors (who also had their own businesses to manage) were unable to effectively manage a very variable situation on the ground (lack of snow etc). I believe this is due to a lack of support from EA. Training itself (which the instructors were actually trained in) was very effective and good fun. Accommodation was variable; some had good beds (with storage etc), others did not. A day for looking over equipment was promised but not provided. Overall I would say it was a good experience but could easily have been provided for far less.
Hi Luc, we appreciate your feedback and are glad you had a good experience overall. We want everyone to be ready and qualified in time to begin work when the season is in full swing. We put in a lot of work alongside our on-ground staff to prepare everyone for exams despite the challenging early season conditions this year. It’s great to hear you found the training valuable and thanks for choosing us to be a part of your journey. -The EA Team

I had the best time in Queenstown! I met so many new friends from around the world, we had great night outs and so much fun. We had an well organized training and already signed up for a next winter season.
Thanks for joining EA for an epic season in Queenstown Stefanie! It’s very exciting to hear that you are pursuing another winter, we look forward to watching the continuation of your snow sports pursuits. -The EA Team

Great Training with great people
December 14, 2023by: James Preston - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Japan, with Training and Job
I had a great time training in Karuizawa with loads of people whom I now call friends. The trainer was amazing and is the best skier I’ve seen. The list of issues is short and consists of one entry: ‘The hostel wasn’t great’; it wasn’t awful it’s just not worth the compulsory fee
Hey James, it’s awesome to read about your success. We’re proud to work with some of the best trainers the industry has to offer! We appreciate your feedback on the accommodation and will use this for improving our program in the future. -The EA Team
Discovering my love of teaching skiing and training!
December 14, 2023by: Lucy Atkins - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Japan, with Training and Job
Embarking on the EA Ski internship journey is nothing short of exhilarating! The program doesn't just teach skiing; it immerses you in a world of snowy slopes and alpine adventures. While the occasional challenge may arise, like navigating tricky terrains, they're overshadowed by the thrill of honing your skills on the slopes. Beyond the training, landing a job post-internship feels like conquering a mountain you've been ascending for months. The sense of accomplishment and the prospect of contributing to exciting ski projects make the EA Ski internship a launchpad for an exhilarating career in the world of snow sports.
What a fantastic insight on your winter with EA, Lucy! It’s lovely to see the sense of accomplishment and personal development you’ve experienced through the internship. Your passion for snowsports is evident and no doubt will serve you well as you follow a career in this industry! -The EA Team

EA changed my life!

EA thought of everything! From help with the visa process, with endless communication at all hours of the day, to social networking in the first few days of arriving. The reps are amazing and have the expertise and experience to guide and help you. If you want a change or routine and scenery, then this is the adventure for you.
Hey Miles, we're thrilled to hear that your experience with EA was seamless and that we were able to assist you every step of the way. We take pride in providing communication and support so you can get the most out of your adventures. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback! -The EA Team

Brilliant experience!
December 14, 2023by: Islay Smith - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Canada - Training + Job Included
I travelled to Canada with EA to work in Vancouver as a snowboard instructor in 2019. They were so helpful and brilliant with assisting organisation. Accommodation was good as everyone was together in a block of apartments so it created a great sense of community. We received really good training prior to the exams required to become an instructor, and everyone on the mountain was so accepting and helpful and kind! I would definitely recommend doing this if you’re even vaguely thinking about it, and I’d absolutely love to do it again if I had the time!
Dear Islay, your recommendation means a lot to us, and we appreciate your encouragement for other aspiring instructors. Should you ever find the time for another adventure, we'd be thrilled to have you back! Thank you for being a part of the EA community. -The EA Team

I had the best 6 months of my life so far in Canada with EA. It provides you with great development to your skiing as well as aiding you to become a confident instructor. Furthermore, I met some great friends whilst being away that I will have for life. Couldn’t, recommended more. It was quite pricey though.
Thanks for recommending our instructor program, Deacon! We’re so glad that you had an amazing experience and have made lifelong friends. -The EA Team

Best training program out there
August 20, 2023by: Omri Raor Baratz - IsraelProgram: Winter Gap Year - Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor!
I did the EA level 1 and 2 program in NZ last year and it was amazing. The EA crew did everything they could to make sure our time in NZ will be the best they possibly could, the accommodation was really good, they made a lot of efforts to make us feel welcome and have fun and we had a lot of activities outside of training. Training wise, the course was amazing, we had small groups with the best instructors the mountain had to offer, and the program his built to make sure you'll pass your exam, it focuses on the riding skills and also the teaching and analyzing skills you need to pass the exams. I highly recommend to everyone that wants to pass the instructor exams or just have fun and get better in snowboarding on taking the EA program
Hey Omri, we loved having you join us in New Zealand. Thank you so much for recommending the program and congratulations on your achievements! -The EA Team
Great training and a great job with like minded people
February 10, 2023by: Jane Daley - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Canada - Training + Job Included
My daughter set off for the EA Lake Louise internship program in November 2022 and she is having the time of her life. She was assigned her own contact, Kerie, in the run up to her trip who was very helpful with information regarding the whole process, visa applications and flights. The Level 1 training took only 2 weeks and she is already training for her Level 2. A job at the end of Level 1 training was guaranteed which is a huge bonus! The work/life balance is perfect and she is teaching a mixture of private lessons, and group lessons to adults and children. She is also able to work additional hours on the resort lifts. We have been to visit and met some of her new friends from all over the world. In addition to her skiing she is now proficient in snow boarding and ice skating. The area is breathtakingly beautiful. This is an opportunity that should not be missed. We are so happy for our daughter and very proud parents.
Hey Jane, we’re thrilled to read about the fantastic experience your daughter had on her internship. Thank you for your kind words and we hope she holds these memories and friendships close for the years to come! -The EA Team
They changed location and course then kept $5000
June 10, 2021by: Mark Robinson - AustraliaProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in New Zealand - Training Included
I booked Internship plus Queenstown 2021 in Feb 2020, paid $5000 au deposit. In March 2021 EA contacted us stating they would not be running the course at Queenstown, we had to attend Mt Hutt, and only the internship was on offer not the plus program. This was unacceptable so we tried to get a refund. The small print states EA can change ski resort and not offer the course you paid for. So they filled our spot and kept our $5000 dollars. Be very careful giving these guy your money.
Thank you for your review and feedback. It is unfortunate that our Internship Program could not run in Queenstown this winter. Everyone affected has been offered the option of transferring to an alternative location in New Zealand this winter. Also - under our Covid-19 deferral policy we have offered a free deferral to a future season or program in New Zealand or any of our international locations.

In general this has been well received but we appreciate that you feel we are taking a tough line by sticking to our terms and conditions. Covid-19 has caused significant disruption to our business. Our deferral policy was developed to provide as much flexibility as possible while still allowing us the ability to operate with certainty going forward.
Lost my program and money
June 02, 2020by: Allison Wegner - United StatesProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in New Zealand - Training Included
I found this program back in 2018 and the interview process was very simple. The rep I worked with was extremely responsive and helpful. Because of my job and time for a sabbatical, I signed up for the Mt. Ruapehu New Zealand 2020 season. The real problem started as COVID hit in March. The communication dropped off and I was left in the dark on the status of my program that was scheduled to start in June. I understand the delays and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic. However, I was constantly requesting information because my rep seemed disengaged with the situation. I was sent a purposefully confusing email at the end of May, also telling me my rep had left the company. After a week of emails, I finally heard my program was cancelled and I would receive no refund. I was told I could transfer $4,000 to another program and would lose the other $2,000. As I mentioned previously, because of my job I am unable to transfer to another program during a different season. The company also had altered their terms and conditions document from when I signed back in July 2019. Now, EA has a different policy for COVID and delaying programs where you don't lose $2,000 for preparation costs. The company's run around responses and diminished communication leaves me feeling hopeless about ever seeing my money again. I wanted to share my experience because I know it is similar to many others in my program as we are all demanding refunds. I feel it is important for future applicants to understand EA's actions and lack of understanding during COVID.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Allison.

We were pleased to hear your initial experience with our team was positive. It is unfortunate your travel plans were affected by COVID-19 and that you were unable do the program at Mt Ruapehu. It has been a challenging time. The travel industry in particular has been hard hit and we appreciate it has been extremely frustrating for you. In the early stages of this crisis we were hopeful of being able to run our program at Mt Ruapehu and our operations team was in touch with everyone affected as a group. We apologise and understand that our communication was not as good as it could have been. Our team has been on reduced hours due to lockdown restrictions and at times we simply did not have the answers to know what we could and couldn’t do. Alex who you were dealing with decided to take another job opportunity but the remainder of our team is still with us and we are doing our best to retain all our staff. Ultimately we want to do the best for our clients and be here on the other side of this also.

As you note we have updated our standard terms and conditions. This has been to allow more flexibility for those now booking Northern Hemisphere programs due to government-sanctioned travel bans.

We have a number of people in a similar position to you and are doing our best to offer alternative program options. EA has been operating since 2005 and we want to ensure we are here for many years to come. We start planning our programs months in advance and operations, along with overheads and commitments to suppliers, have meant we have not been able to offer a cash refund. We have gone above and beyond the requirements of our terms and conditions to offer as much as possible in way of credits towards a future program along with additional credit as a gesture of goodwill to ensure losses to clients are minimised. We appreciate that for some, being able to do a program at a future date is not an option and we encourage you and anyone else affected to continue communicating and working with us.

Thanks again for your thoughts and feedback.
Busy, but a lot of fun!
November 27, 2019by: Aaron - FranceProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in New Zealand - Training Included
My season with EA was busy but a lot of fun, we were constantly doing something be it training, work, exams or drinking. We had great instructors who managed to get me through all my exams and made me a much better skier. My favorite part of the season and also my favorite part of being an instructor was all the crazy people I met throughout these few months some of whom I'll be seeing for my next season in Japan.
Epic winter season
November 26, 2019by: Mark Crichton - United KingdomProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Canada - Training + Job Included
I’d always wanted to do a ski season but had never considered becoming an instructor as I didn’t think I was good enough. As soon as I heard you could get all the training you needed and a guaranteed job I was in! The whole process with EA was awesome, from speaking with their training consultants on the phone to finally arriving in Canada meeting the program reps and all the other interns. Almost instantly I had a massive group of new mates and over the course of the season we became a weirdly dysfunctional family! The training we received was incredible, i’d always thought I was a decent enough skier but the improvements we all made in just 3/4 weeks at the start (and over the course of the season) was insane! Would happily do this all again if I could!
Mislead
February 21, 2018by: Sam Smith - JapanProgram: Winter Gap Year - Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor!
Though I've had a great time in Japan meeting great people and getting the opportunity to ski amazing powder I don't feel as if I got what I paid for. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed ski instructing in the few months I've been here I was less to believe I'd have work and accommodation November through April. In reality though mine and the majority of the EA staffs contracts have not been extended due to lack of work available. I now can not afford to stay in japan until the date of my flight I was told to book in mid April and can not afford to stay on the meal plan not ski. Great few months but now feel as if I've been left out to dry march through April.

Trip of a lifetime! - Cypress mountain, Vancouver
December 07, 2017by: Mitch Cartwright - AustraliaProgram: Become a Ski Instructor in Canada - Training + Job Included
A piece of advice, if like me you were looking into this program but not sure if you are gonna do it, just take the plunge and do it, you won't regret it! Cypress is a beautiful mountain with a huge variety of terrain and mountain views on one side, and ocean views on the other, truly no other resort is quite like it, as for EA, these guys are with you from start to finish, making sure you have visas, accommodation, orientations all set up on arrival, they give you everything you need and are willing to help out as much as they can I cannot recommend this program highly enough, it's incredible and if you can, you should do it

Operating since 2005 we were the first company to create and arrange instructor internship programs which include a job placement immediately after the training and exam. We now have employment positions at the World’s top ski schools which are exclusive to EA participants. This allows us to guarantee a job offer to participants before they have left home.
