Take 15-20 hours per week of Japanese language classes designed to improve real-world skills.

Take a guided walking tour of a local shrine and temple (fall) or take a day trip to the mountains on a hiking trip with your fellow gappers (spring).

This was an absolutely amazing program and I had so much fun! The most memorable experience for me was going to Hiroshima and Miyajima— 100% would recommend that this become a part of the recurring itinerary for the Kyoto trip students
