Culinary arts is the creative side of food—taking local ingredients, time-honored techniques, and bold ideas and turning them into new dishes, eye-catching menus, and unforgettable flavors. Few places showcase that creativity better than Seoul, where 600-year-old royal recipes share the streets with sizzling barbecue joints and neon-lit snack stalls.

Delve into the culinary history of South Korea, preparing traditional dishes and reflecting on their influence on modern cuisine. Together with fellow Global Navigators, you’ll join chef-led workshops that finish with plates you dreamed up yourself.

When you’re not in the kitchen, you’ll soak up Seoul’s energy. Two exciting excursions take you on a street-food tour with a Korean chef and a thrill-filled day at Lotte World, a world-class amusement park where students in school uniforms ride coasters and share snacks between cultural parades. Your summer in Seoul will sharpen your cooking skills, spark new friendships, and show you how a love of food can shape future studies or a career in culinary arts.
