Explore cutting-edge scientific and health challenges through a European lens in this study abroad program at Maastricht University (UM). It starts with a two-week introduction, which includes CES services, the Dutch Discovery Trip, a tour of Maastricht and the surrounding area, UM orientation, a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) workshop, a cultural awareness lecture, and integration into Dutch student life.

Maastricht, situated at the intersection of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, offers an ideal environment to study scientific and health challenges in a European context. The Science and Health in Europe programme explores key issues such as personalised medicine, pandemic preparedness, climate change, AI ethics, and sustainability. These topics reflect current European research priorities and policy agendas. Drawing on disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence, the programme takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Students develop a strong academic foundation and a broad European perspective relevant to future careers in science and health.
