My experience in Spain

I had such an awesome and unforgettable experience with this program. The program provided such a great experience and opportunity to experience Spain at its fullest. I also want to give a special thanks to Marta for being such great help on recommending places to eat and have fun across many cities in Spain. Also enjoyed Martas company not only to me but my class mates that needed help wether it had something to do with class, housing, recommendations, and emergencies. As a native Spanish speaker, still felt like I learned a lot from the Spanish language that I will carry on at home. The culture was amazing, loved all the social interactions I had in Spain and learned a lot of slang and customs that are practiced here. And lastly the food was amazing, love trying food across the globe and Spain for sure checked the box.

My host family was TERRIBLE

Alicia Otero Cuesta was one of the worst human beings I’ve met in my entire life. From calling me names and stating that I’m disrespectful and uneducated to ruining my clothes when she only washed twice in an entire month to making me go hungry because she always reheated extremely small portions of food for my roommate and I while she cooked a decent meal for herself and husband. The following picture was our dinner after not eating for 7 hours because of course she didn’t give us any snacks.

Response from provider

Hello, Janett We are really sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience at the beginning of your stay. Thankfully we are glad, as per your final evaluation, that you get to make the most of your experience after we find you another host family. We hope that you can keep fond memories with the new family we found for you and with all the new friends that we are sure you will keep for the rest of your liv; and with all the learning you have built up while in Spain. Best regards, CML.

The Summer of My Dreams!

I studied for 6 weeks in Cádiz, Spain with Centro Mundolengua and had the best experience of my life. While taking 2 intensive Spanish language courses at Universidad de Cádiz, my group travelled through southern Spain, had weekly cultural immersion activities, and spent our free time on the beautiful beaches and in the tranquil but lively city of Cádiz. Centro Mundolengua did an amazing job pairing me with a wonderful host family from whom I learned so much about Spain, the language, and the culture of Cádiz. Our program director was always available for any questions, advice, or simply to check in and make sure we were enjoying the program to the fullest extent. On our weekends, we travelled to the magnificent cities of Granada, Sevilla, and Córdoba and experienced the rich history and culture of Andalusia, along with our tour guides who knew everything there is to know about these cultural sites. Not only did I learn Spanish grammar and history within the classroom, but I was able to explore and leave feeling like an honorary Gaditana by the end of my program. I will never stop recommending this program because it truly was a life-altering experience and I will forever be grateful for it.

Awesome summer in Spain!

I absolutely loved my chance to study abroad in Cádiz. Living with a host family was awesome since I really got to immerse myself in Spanish culture and learn from them. In addition, I loved the excursions that MundoLengua planned for us since I got to see a lot of different cities in Andalucia - it gave me the ability to start to see what I loved so much about Cádiz and how unique all the parts of Spain are. I highly recommend this program because of the opportunities to speak Spanish in class and at home, explore parts of Andalucia, and learn about Spanish culture everywhere you go.

Response from provider

We are glad to read your words, Sophie. Knowing that Centro Mundolengua has helped you to discover Cádiz and Andalusia is what makes us work hard everyday on our studyabroad programs. We do our best to make sure that each student feels welcome during the study abroad in Cádiz. It was a pleasure to have you here at Centro Mundolengua and to have you as our social media ambassador ;)

Alucinante

I really did enjoy my stay in Cadiz and would love to do it again. The staff was amazing, the instructors were knowledgeable, and the food was fantastic! I know for a fact, that one truly has grown from an entire ordeal and wouldn't change a thing. If I could, I'd make it a point to visit Cadiz, through this program, every single year.

Response from provider

Tristan, we can’t thank you enough how grateful we are for your words. Your feeling once you are back home is what we look forward to when we are setting everything for our Summer programs for college students. We want our study abroad programs to be a life-changing experience for our students. We are really glad that Cadiz is now “that place” for you.

I have been fortunate enough to travel abroad a couple of times in my life, and going abroad once only made me want to do it more. However, I always wanted to travel to a Spanish-speaking country so that I could practice my skills and experience the rich culture I had always learned about. There was no better destination, in my mind, than Spain.
