Best experience of my life.

My study abroad experience was the most amazing opportunity I've had so far in my life. CAPA made the experience better than I could have ever asked for. When we first arrived in London, the CAPA staff met us at our flat and were there to help us settle in. They walked us around our neighborhood and really helped make us feel comfortable with our new home for the next couple months. Even as the semester went on, the CAPA staff always made themselves available to their students even on the weekends if we needed them. The professors that taught our classes were so passionate about what they were teaching, and almost every class used famous landmarks to incorporate the London culture into the curriculum. CAPA also really took pride in the internships they offered their students. They really tried to exactly place each student in their top choice of internship. The program also incorporated a lot of different kids from around the United States, and I made life long friends from different states that I would have never known if it wasn't for CAPA international program. I highly highly recommend this study abroad program. You will not regret it!

Living, Learning and Loving London

Through my internship, Henman Communications, I was able to meet British boy band Union J. They came in 4th place in the 2012 X-Factor UK and are becoming wildly successful in Europe! It was so surreal that they sent the interns to a photo shoot that was happening at one of our client's locations and I felt honored that they trusted us to represent the company as a whole. From meeting the band to talking hair with their hairstylist, it was a day I will never forget. I chose CAPA specifically for the internship component. With such a strong emphasis on the global marketplace, I knew my time abroad would be best utilized if I was working in addition to my studies. CAPA partners with some absolutely amazing companies and I know my time in London would have been significantly different had I not chose CAPA. As described in my program review, my flat had everything I needed and more. Living in Camden Town though was an experience in and of itself! Camden is such an eclectic area of London with diversity around every corner. It's very young, very urban and always busy. The Camden Markets are a huge tourist attraction open every day of the week! There, you can find anything you would ever want or need and plenty of stuff you didn't even realize you wanted or needed. During my semester, it was also a huge place of interest for night life. Students living in other areas of the city would constantly come to Camden - leading me to believe it was clearly the best area in town.

Simply Life Changing

Most memorable experience was getting baptized! It was truly life-changing! When searching for where to study abroad, I knew I wanted to go to England, specifically London. I was confused and almost gave up, but the internship opportunity came along-- I am a double major in English and Psychology, and I had already done a lot of things for English, but nothing for Psychology. So, I thought doing an internship in London would allow me to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak: I would go to London, something I had always wanted to do, and start doing something for my Psychology major. I lived in a flat, along with 3 other American students! We were all part of the program. To say that the accommodations were awesome, I feel, would be an understatement. My flatmates and I were amazed! The flat was fully furnished, we had a housekeeper who came to clean the flat every week. It was beautiful! Simply wonderful.

Studying abroad was always something I wanted to do. During my college orientation I remember raising my hand and the first and only question I asked was, “Can I study abroad if I study this major?” My dad traveled a lot when I was young. Seeing him come back from each of international destinations sparked a curiosity. What else was there to see of the world and what could I learn from traveling and meeting so many different types of people?
